Picking a good casual outfit for running errands should never be disregarded. Just because you’re running errands does not mean you should ever look like you’ve given up on life. Neither should you always look like you’re on your way to or from the gym if you really aren’t.
RUNNING WITH MAJOR KEYS
Running errands may not necessarily involve running but it normally will include a bit of walking, so comfort is key. If you’re leaving your house and will possibly be in the presence of other humans, style is also a major key. Although you are not dressing for others, your priorities should always include how you present yourself and that directly represents the value you hold of yourself. Yes, I’m still talking about running errands here!
As a personal stylist, my clients know that I don’t encourage being a boss in the week and a bum on the weekends. Everyday should be an ‘ON’ day, even if you’re having an off day. That’s why I’m an advocate for wardrobe staples every woman needs. Wardrobe staples, as well as my top tips for effortless style, help you stay ready, so you don’t have to get ready.
BEING CASUALLY CHIC
This casual outfit was an easy throw together as I love monochrome pieces. That’s a great style tip that helps you look put together without the most effort. The ombre jumper added some cool, while the monogram brown accessories added some contrast, comfort and practicality. As I was running errands for a styling project, my trusty suitcase was my travel companion. That meant I had to be comfortable and weather appropriate to not overheat or get too flustered running around London. So my green faux fur aviator jacket was invited along for the ride. I have also featured a variation of this look as chic comfort travel outfit inspiration.
Lastly, remember these points when picking your casual outfit for running errands. Avoid tracksuits bottoms (do people still wear those?), uncomfortable shoes and hair that looks unkempt. Also avoid clothes that you’ve been “meaning” to throw out or donate and clothes that don’t make you feel confident. Because a lady about her business is ‘ON’ even when she’s off.
