Chic casual style that looks clean and crisp needn’t be a challenge, it should be an easy wardrobe option that effortlessly comes together. This casual style challenge featuring Funmi of FunmiOgunja.com shows two different but equally stylish casual day looks. After our last successful style collaboration in the shades of grey style challenge, Funmi and I came together again to make more fashion magic, albeit some laid back monochrome looks magic.

Not everyone is in their style element being “under dressed” or laid back, even for daywear and Funmi is one such example. So both looks are great inspiration for putting together chic elegant casual wear. Firstly, adding leather pieces to a look can instantly add some edginess. So Funmi’s leather trousers and my leather jacket add some effortless intensity to the ensembles. While bold colours are a great way to jazz up a laid back look, there’s something so classic about monochrome. Monochrome also offers versatility for everyday go-to outfits.

Finally, by playing with dimensions and accessories, such as a statement necklace, longline sleeveless jacket or cropped jacket over a long t-shirt, you can really add interest to a look and not feel so under dressed.
