CHIC RAINY DAY OUTFIT

Even though we’ve had a few days of sunshine recently, it’s technically still autumn, so a day of meetings called for this chic rainy day outfit. Rainy days can sometimes dampen your style spirits and make you want to reach for the biggest coat and boots you can find. But in the excitement of spring and the fact that I still had to be presentable, I styled a convenient compromise.

Tan and camel tones are so chic, especially in big coats. So I wore this vintage find with a black and gold belt to create a more flattering silhouette. The belt also tied in the black beanie hat and bag so well into the outfit. For footwear, I paired the look with tan court heels for some added elegance. This outfit is a good mix of smart, casual and a little retro, especially with the sunglasses. Although black trousers would have also styled great with this chic rainy day outfit, a pair of blue casual trousers added a nice contrast between the earthy tones.
