Most daily challenges don’t include how to layer a grey scuba top but if you fancy making a statement in the smooth stretchy material, it’s a task worth tackling. As a fashion stylist, picking pieces and products that will flatter and compliment my clients is key. So while that might be easy, sometimes self styling isn’t so straight forward. Understanding your best features and “flaws”, as well as the most flattering fabrics for your body, is not always as easy to navigate, hence the need for a stylist and so on.
We all, at some point, have items in our closet that we just love and they look fabulous but we just don’t know how to really style them on us. Items like this grey scuba top featured and how to layer it when it doesn’t really work on it’s own. Although it is an awesome top, its sleeve design can have a muscle tee feel, while its cut can make you look top heavy if worn wrong.
Even though every item isn’t for everybody, there are sometimes ways to get around those unflattering pieces. For this grey scuba top, layering a white button shirt beneath it, balanced out the sharpness of the cap sleeves. For the bottom, a pretty grey tulle skirt is a great option for adding a more feminine feel. But for this outfit, the black leather trousers added edge and contrast to complete a stylish monochrome outfit.
