This look, showing how to style a crochet top, is what I wore to attend London Fashion Week. Although, it became a very short stay as parking was a nightmare, which will teach me to drive to West London, on a Sunday, in the middle of Fashion Week. Usually when layering a white shirt, I work with the vest or shirt jumper layered look. But on receiving this beautiful black cotton crochet top called ‘Mary’ from Delores Airey, I immediately knew it would look fabulous over a white button shirt. Delores Airey, whose line of high end knitwear pieces is a must-have, creates unique hand-made designs.
This black diamond cute crochet top is so versatile to style that I’m even wearing it back to front. Also featured in how to wear a smokey cat eye, the ‘Mary’ top also looks great styled over dresses. In this look, wearing the top back to front allowed the crystals on the hem to nicely break up the black. As a wardrobe staple, the black textured pencil skirt is so versatile, that it’s easy to wear as corporate wear or casual with a tucked-in rock tee. Monochrome and red may be a fashion favourite colour combination, but orange and blue work just as well with monochrome. Therefore allowing me to wear a boucle coat and blue crystal necklace to complement the look.
