So after being a bridesmaid in blue for my friends wedding, it was all about how to style blue wedding lace for the after party. With Nigerian weddings, it’s traditional to wear native attire at some point during the celebrations. And this attire can be made from either ankara or lace fabrics. With many colours & prints available, this lace material in blue with red detailing was chosen for family & friends to wear. Its tradition to receive the material as a stretch of fabric & have it sewn in any style that you desire.
This outfit managed to stay graceful despite the bold print and bling because the cut and styling were kept simple. Since the style of my custom bridesmaid dress was elegant and uncomplicated, I decided to have my blue wedding lace dress made in a similar style. I had the dress sewn into a knee length design without the fishtail but kept the low back style. I then went the extra mile & customised my dress further with over 500 Swarovski crystals the night before the wedding. Finally for how to style the blue wedding lace dress, I highlighted the red details by switching the gold fascinator to a red one, adding a waist belt and keeping the red ankle strap heels. Although the jewellery remained gold, the classic filigree pieces were changed to more modern style detailed accessories.
