Although a suit jacket is a sharp & formal piece usually designed to match with tailored trousers, it can also be worn casually when styled right. The sign of a great wardrobe staple is the ability to style it multiple ways for various occasions. Like its less formal cousin, the blazer, it provides many style options, like how to style a blazer casually.
The suit jacket is not the type of jacket that you grab in a rush when wearing casual leggings or work out gear, that is considered a faux pas. It is an intentional piece but still quite versatile that it doesn’t have to only be worn with tailored trousers. You can honour the tradition of a suit jacket while still displaying your personal style. Whether that’s wearing jeans or bolder colours with it.
This look is quite simple in styling but detailed in design. The sophisticated and formal nature of my grey Suit Jacket is perfectly balanced out with simple black jeans. The bow detail of the blazer also inspired a more playful look, by adding the black and silver floral shirt. Although this outfit could have been finished with a more elegant detail like court heels, I decided on a more edgy end with the silver boots. Not your everyday kind of footwear but I certainly like the unexpected contrast of formal and funky.
