HOW TO WEAR BLACK IN SUMMER

HOW TO WEAR BLACK IN SUMMER

Black works for any occasion, event and even season, as I demonstrate wearing a practically all black outfit in Summer. The trick as with any colour ensemble, is the key pieces you pick, a major key.  Wearing an all black winter outfit sounds respectable but black on one of the hottest days of the year doesn’t sound so practical at first. But contrary to popular belief, black is actually a great colour to wear to keep cool in the heat.

Yes black absorbs everything coming in from the sun but it also absorbs energy from the body instead of reflecting it back. Which in layman’s terms means with the right pieces, it keeps you cool. Now, the coolness of black clothing still depends on the thickness and looseness of the pieces. So just stick with black pieces similar to other colour summery clothes you’d normally wear.

So for this look wearing a black high slit maxi skirt seems perfect for this summers day. Pairing it with a loose short sleeve black top with pink lace insert added some interest and ventilation. Along with the pop of pink, the statement gold necklace contributed some nice colour to the otherwise all black look. Of course accessories like sunscreen and sunglasses are a must. The black espadrille shoes are perfect for the summer because of their top mesh breathable fabric and comfortable fit. It’s probably strange(r) to you that an all black look on such a hot day is styled with a black knitted double pom pom hat but hey, it works and it’s cute.
