Hi Lovelies. I do love the holiday season, the feeling of warmth and togetherness with loved ones, the opportunity to dress up and of course food. But… call me the grinch (you wouldn’t be the thirty-first one) but for many years now, I’ve not been one to really get into the Christmas spirit, well into the commercial Christmas spirit at least.
You will not see me running out and about shopping for Christmas gifts because as far I’m concerned, I personally only know one other person who shares that birthday with Jesus, you will not see me trying to untangle Christmas lights, I watch Vlogmas’ for that and you will not see me wearing a… actually you will see me wearing a Christmas novelty jumper, hey? who passes up the chance to wear silly cute knitwear? not me! Wait, what was my point? Oh yes, the joys of Christmas.
My point is, if like me your facial expressions or surroundings don’t always show your Christmas spirit, why not let your style show it for you. This double stripes look (vertical stripes for a leaner look) is my small attempt at stirring up my Christmas spirit and it’s totally way more Christmassy than this other double stripes outfit I styled years ago. Now I know what you’re thinking, “how is this Christmassy?”, “Where’s the reindeer?”, “where’s the Santa hat?” but this my dear is what we call in the industry aka my office, “Candy Cane Chic”.
Now you don’t have to dress like a Christmas tree, an elf (red stripes) or take style inspo from a black candy cane like I have but you can add a little sparkle, a little stripe, a little frill or a little tulle (not all at once of course) to your look even if it’s through accessories to get you in the Christmas style spirit because after all,
fashion Jesus is the reason for the season. Enjoy!
