Gold is not the usual work-wear wardrobe go to colour but how you wear it to the office is the difference between ‘golden girl’ and ‘go home girl!’. We all know gold is usually associated with glitz and glamour and the representation of luxury. So that’s why we’re more likely to wear it to a ball than the boardroom. That’s why even the last outfit edit showed how to wear gold in a dazzling crystal party outfit.
As a fashion stylist, I believe you can wear any colour or trend, so long as you style it accordingly. I encourage clients to never limit their choices, even to work. This outfit shows exactly how you can wear gold to work and still look professional.
In person, the yellow gold top has quite a shimmer to it and its beautiful structure makes it more dressy than casual. The fact that it also looks like a yellow tone in brighter lights also gives it some versatility. The fluted sleeves of the top add some edge to the ensemble, whilst the simple accessories refine the look. Lastly, the tailored suit trousers, even with its pretty print, adds more sophistication to the outfit.
If you don’t want to go so bold with the gold top but prefer the gold print of the trousers, the full print power suit might be more to your liking. Gold is every woman’s best friend. She just likes to be handle with style, grace and no apologies.
