HOW TO WEAR SHADES OF BLUE TOGETHER

This look is all about how to wear the beautiful shades of blues together elegantly in one outfit. Although this ensemble was a simple throw together for an event, it was clearly inspired by my colour of the moment, cobalt blue.

The colbalt blue court heels have made an appearance in almost all my outfits since purchasing them. They are also surprising versatile given how bold they are. The jeans are in a beautiful shade of blue called Azure, which is a slightly lighter shade than cobalt. I then chose a beautiful shirt in sky blue to not only add dimension but as in my how to wear double denim rulebook, it is more flattering to wear the lighter shade on the top. As a whole, the shades of blue get deeper as you descend through the look. Which is not only easier on the eye than a random mish-mash of blues but it is also aesthetically pleasing.

To compliment the sea of blues, I styled the look with earth tones. The classic style blazer was actually my father’s and not only is it a great cut but it was so well made, it has really stood the test of style time. The brown trilby hat and bag really add some positive colour balance to the otherwise cool toned outfit. Finally, I may not be the biggest fashion fan when it comes to navy blue but give me a beautiful bright blue any day and I’ll accept.
