HOW TO WEAR TRIPLE DENIM FOR SPRING

FASHION STYLIST ABIGAIL AYOOLA SHOWING HOW TO WEAR TRIPLE DENIM FOR SPRING

Triple denim in spring or any season is not a trend you want to wander into lightly. You want to wear it with conviction and style or else you’ll end up channeling Justin & Britney’s denim date circa 2001.

THE PERFECT STYLE SEASON

Spring is the perfect time to try out a triple  denim look. The weather is cool enough to accommodate the layers but warm enough to make the look season appropriate. Denim is an all seasons fabric but different seasons require different denim looks. For instance, light and white jeans trousers tend to work best in the summer months, whilst dark colours work best during the colder months.

DOUBLE DENIM VS TRIPLE DENIM

I featured a double denim look a few seasons ago. There I mentioned the best way to balance out double denim is to sport a darker shade denim on the bottom. Although the same rule works with how to wear triple denim, the one extra layer of denim gives you more leeway to play with the shades.

You’ll see that in this triple denim look, I worked with similar light shades of denim for the top and bottom but gave the outfit more dimension by adding a darker layer over the top. The same could work in reverse with double dark shades and one lighter shade. If you are going to do the double dark, be sure to balance it out on the top and bottom. As light jeans with a dark denim top and dark denim jacket will simple give the unflattering illusion of being top heavy.

With the sun shining and the cool spring breeze, there’s no better time to wear triple denim and rock it with style.
