As beautiful as tropical prints are, it mostly is ” a time and a place” type of print to wear. Unlike wearing florals that can be styled for more than one season like how to wear florals for Autumn, tropical print has a much more strong association with summer and palm trees as well as hot and humid weather.
Based on the print, a tropical print look works best in the summer time, on holiday and on the beach. Although, like everything in fashion, depending on the colours and print design, there are exceptions to the rule. This is because some tropical prints are less tropical and more floral based and therefore, more versatile to work with. Tropical print outfit ideas that would look good on holiday and at home in the sun are palazzo pants, jumpsuits, maxi dresses and wearing a tropical print kimono for daytime glam.
For my last day on holiday, I thought I’d go out paying homage to the sun that has been so good to me these past few weeks. This pretty tropical print shift dress that was such a simple and chic option. The black side panel detail gives the dress more of a mature vibe. While the print is so bright and vivid that it almost takes you to fashion paradise.
Pairing the dress with my silver ‘neck-piece of the moment’ and gladiator sandals, I did a last spot of shopping, picked up some vanilla bread at the most amazing bakery and took a mini road trip. It has been the most amazing couple of weeks relaxing in style and colour.
