Monochrome will forever be a style classic and there are so many ways to wear it but if you ever find it a challenge, here are two style ideas for inspiration to create your own black and white ensemble. This post is another fabulous style collaboration with Funmi Ogunja of FunmiOgunja.com after our last fun casual style challenge. This time we were set in monochrome mode in white complementary but very different looks. While the coincidental common denominator being our black leather jackets.
Creating monochrome looks doesn’t have to be difficult or fussy as detailed in how to wear monochrome. By simply starting off with a solid coloured base like the pretty white lace dress as I’m wearing or the white top and trousers as Funmi’s wearing, you can then begin adding contrasting colours for the final effect.
For both feminine and elegant looks, wearing black cropped leather jackets adds an unexpected touch of edginess and cool. With Funmi then layering a longline waistcoat over her leather jacket, she effortlessly creates a statement finish to her otherwise simple outfit.
Finally, for outfits that don’t include prints or extremely bold pieces, trying pairing your outfit with statement heels that will give your look a chic and modern finish. This challenge shows that whatever your style, whether laid back or dressy, you can create a great summer monochrome outfit.
