STYLING A SLOGAN T-SHIRT

STYLING A SLOGAN T-SHIRT

Styling a slogan t-shirt is a great way to have fun with your fashion. It’s also a great way to highlight a message, show support and even join a cause dear to your heart. The slogan tee featured in this look was definitely all about bright and fun vibes. Even the windy weather couldn’t dull the excitement of styling this t-shirt. I recently discovered designs by Kayobi Clothing when I met the designer Kwabena at the filming of Closet247 shown this week in pictures (#009). I love the witty African inspired slogans and the bold pops of colours of the tops.

The slogan on this t-shirt “Oh Chale” is a very popular Ghanaian Pidgin English expression used in the same sense as the words “Dude” or “Homie”, used with “Oh” as an expression of disappointment, pity, and sympathy. It’s quite an appropriate slogan for the weather considering I felt like “Oh Chale, it’s freezing outside”. Kayobi Clothing have many more fabulous t-shirts with fab, sharp slogan’s such as the famous “Make fufu, not war”.

The best approach when styling a slogan t-shirt is to work with the main colour and highlight that. The red detailing in the midi skirt highlighted the top, while the bold print matched the playfulness of the t-shirt design. To complete the look, red heels tied the everything together. Other style options for working this slogan top, would be light blue denim jeans and a black blazer over the top for a chic ensemble. Another great fashion choice and idea for the windy weather, would be saying yes to slogan knitwear.
