Yellow is such an uplifting colour and lace is an elegant fabric, so wearing the them together should mean uplifting elegance, right? My adoration for lace is shown through many fashion looks, and trying it in various colours is a fun undertaking. From wearing nude leather and lace and silver lace to even how to wear black lace to a wedding. I love the challenge of wearing this striking fabric casually, to work or for events.

From an orange mini skirt in how to wear asymmetric hems to this yellow midi lace skirt, it seems the sun really brings out the brightness in me. This yellow lace skirt was actually an alternative purchase as the black version had sold out. But I’m glad I went with it as it was perfectly suited for the holiday sun. Lace has an effortless prettiness to it and this skirt is so flowy and flirty with its almost neon brightness. The brightness of the skirt stood out beautifully against the black top. Although a cobalt blue or orange top would have also worked for a colour-block outfit option.

Pairing the yellow lace skirt with a black vest top and silver sandals for a metallic pop, I wore this outfit to the cinema and dinner afterwards. We watched the new Bond film: SkyFall, which we thoroughly enjoyed while eating some tasty shawarma. For the evening chill, a blue denim jacket worked great with the look and kept its casual vibes. If it wasn’t so warm, a black leather jacket, clutch bag and heeled sandals would have perfectly dressed the look up for the evening.
