The amazing Lulu Liu’s A/W 2013 show was a great way for me to wrap up London Fashion Week. Even though I loved the Sonata Lingerie, Ecoluxe and Paolita A/W 2013 shows, the Lulu Liu catwalk show was definitely one of my favourites this season. With 23 beautiful colour-block looks sashaying down the runway, the Chinese-British London based designer took patterning cutting to another level. Not only was the collection intricately detailed but it still managed to be simple, clean cut and sophisticated.
There was a brilliant running colour theme of reds, whites, camel, light blues and black. While the most prominent trends were frills, prints, pleats and asymmetric patterns. Although quite a few items from the fashion show were coveted, I most of all loved how Lulu Liu incorporated the fur inserts to such classic pieces and the way she designed the trousers with mesh cuts at the bottom. All in all, it was a great show with a great view of an elegant luxury collection.
